Mr Joseph Alsousou

Mr. Joseph Alsousou is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Pelvis, Acetabulum, and Complex Arthroplasty. Currently associated with Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust, he also serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.

Mr. Alsousou has earned recognition for his contributions to orthopaedic research, particularly in the realm of trauma and orthopaedics. He holds an NIHR award for the PATH-2 multi-centre Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) and has been involved in several large RCTs. Additionally, he sits on the trial steering committee for the AIR and ATM trials.

His research interests include regenerative therapies in lower limb surgery, platelet-rich plasma, osteoarthritis, and trauma clinical trials. Mr. Alsousou's academic work has earned him numerous prizes and awards, including accolades from prestigious organisations such as EFORT, BOA, BOFAS, BASEM, and ARUK.

In his clinical practice, Mr. Alsousou specialises in pelvis and acetabulum reconstruction, periprosthetic fracture surgery, and arthroplasty. He remains dedicated to advancing the field of orthopaedics through his research endeavours and clinical expertise, contributing significantly to the improvement of patient care and outcomes in orthopaedic surgery.
