Dr. Jonathan Greensides

Dr Jonathan Greensides is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in the assessment, diagnosis, and holistic management of a wide range of adult mental health conditions. He offers compassionate, patient-centred care designed to help individuals navigate complex psychological challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful recovery. Working across both inpatient and outpatient settings, Dr Greensides takes an empathetic and structured approach to psychiatric assessment and treatment.

Dr Greensides completed his primary medical degree at the University of Manchester Medical School, qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) in 1992. He subsequently undertook comprehensive postgraduate specialist training in psychiatry and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2004. Expanding his expertise in ethical clinical decision-making, he later attained a Postgraduate Certificate in the Philosophy and Ethics of Mental Health from the University of Warwick in 2008.

Throughout his career, Dr Greensides has maintained a strong focus on managing acute and enduring psychiatric conditions. His clinical work encompasses the treatment of psychotic illnesses, severe mood disorders, severe anxiety, and complex personality disorders. In addition to his core clinical practice, he has substantial expertise in crisis resolution, home treatment strategies, assertive outreach, and medico-legal work, including independent assessments of mental capacity, risk, and fitness to plead.
