Mr. Joideep Phadnis is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He studied medicine at the University of Sheffield, qualifying in 2003. He completed his basic surgical training in London and advanced his expertise through the South West Thames Orthopaedic programme.
Mr. Phadnis pursued over two years of specialist fellowship training, including one year in Orthopaedic Trauma surgery in New Zealand, a year in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Adelaide, and six months at the renowned Wrightington Upper Limb unit. He has also been an invited delegate to the prestigious Mayo Clinic Elbow course in the United States. His clinical practice covers all aspects of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, including primary and revision joint replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, and soft tissue reconstruction. He regularly treats conditions such as rotator cuff tears, biceps injuries, and recurrent instability in both the shoulder and elbow. He also manages sports-related injuries and complex trauma cases.
Actively involved in clinical research, Mr. Phadnis has published papers on shoulder and elbow replacement, instability, fractures, and dislocations. His research on infection prevention and patient safety in shoulder and elbow surgery reflects his passion for optimising care. He has also contributed chapters to several international books on Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and co-authored Revision Notes for the FRCS Orth, a widely used resource for trainee surgeons.
Mr. Phadnis is dedicated to medical education and training, teaching medical students, trainee surgeons, and his peers. Through his role at Brighton University and international research collaborations, he continues to shape the field of orthopaedic surgery.
