Dr John Tolliday

Dr John Tolliday is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician who provides high-quality, compassionate care for infants, children, and young people. With a strong commitment to family-centred medicine, Dr Tolliday offers clinical expertise across general paediatrics while fulfilling key departmental leadership roles, including Paediatric Nephrourology Lead and Lead for Congenital Infections. His clinical approach focuses on thorough diagnostic evaluations and individualised care plans tailored to the unique health needs of growing children.

Dr Tolliday completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Bristol. To further expand his expertise in clinical education and specialised medical research, he earned a Certificate of Medical Education from the University of Dundee and a Diploma in Genomic Medicine from Queen Mary University of London. He is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), where he also serves on the genomic working group, contributing to ongoing advances in paediatric genetics.

In his day-to-day practice, Dr Tolliday maintains special interests in paediatric nephrourology, clinical genetics, genomic medicine, and the management of congenital infections. He works closely alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams and families to provide reassuring guidance, clear communication, and comprehensive medical management for a wide spectrum of childhood conditions.
