Dr John Hulse

Dr John Hulse is a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Endocrinologist dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate medical care to children, young people, and their families. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Hulse aims to ensure that every young patient receives personalised care tailored to their unique physical and developmental needs. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic care, helping families navigate complex health conditions with confidence and reassurance.

In his clinical practice, Dr Hulse holds specialised expertise in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. His clinical focus encompasses the management of childhood diabetes, growth disorders, pubertal development, thyroid conditions, and skeletal dysplasias, including achondroplasia. Additionally, he has extensive experience in coordinating joint endocrine clinics for children with chronic renal conditions, supporting insulin pump services, and establishing dedicated transition clinics for adolescent patients moving into adult healthcare services.

Dr Hulse earned his medical degree (MB BChir) and doctorate (MD) from Cambridge University, followed by specialist paediatric training in London and dedicated research fellowships focusing on growth hormone mechanisms and neonatal endocrinology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Throughout his career, Dr Hulse has contributed significantly to clinical research and medical education, holding active committee roles within the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and maintaining membership in the British Society for the History of Paediatrics and Child Health.
