Dr Joanne Blair

Dr Joanne Blair is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist who specialises in the diagnosis and management of hormone and endocrine disorders in children and young people. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to supporting families navigating complex endocrine conditions. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of paediatric endocrinology, with a particular focus on growth and puberty disorders, thyroid conditions, and childhood diabetes.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Blair is a leading figure in paediatric research and education, holding the title of Honorary Clinical Professor. She has a deep interest in improving treatment outcomes for children with type 1 diabetes, particularly through the evaluation of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion and multiple daily injection regimens. Her clinical expertise also covers rare endocrine syndromes, adrenal insufficiency, Turner Syndrome, and growth hormone therapies, ensuring that her patients receive evidence-based, cutting-edge care.

Dr Blair obtained her primary medical qualification, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB), from the University of Aberdeen in 1991. She subsequently earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) postgraduate degree. Demonstrating her commitment to the highest standards of paediatric care, she is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).
