Dr. Joanna DaCosta is a dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides expert clinical care for patients affected by complex eye conditions. Specialising in disorders of the retina and inflammatory diseases of the eye, she offers tailored treatment strategies designed to protect and preserve visual function. Her core clinical expertise encompasses a broad range of ophthalmic conditions, with particular focus on medical retina and uveitis. Dr. DaCosta qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of London in 1999. She completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Manchester in 2005, followed by a Doctorate in Medicine by Research, DM (Res), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from Manchester Business School. She obtained her membership (MRCOphth) in 2006 and earned her fellowship (FRCOphth) by examination in 2012 from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
