Mr Sandro Di Simplicio

Mr Sandro Di Simplicio is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with expertise in refractive and lens-based eye surgery, including cataract surgery, lens replacement procedures, and laser vision correction such as LASIK and LASEK. He has extensive experience helping patients improve vision and reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

He completed his medical degree at the University of Siena before undertaking ophthalmology specialist training at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he qualified as an ophthalmologist.

After moving to the UK, Mr Di Simplicio completed subspecialty training in vitreoretinal surgery and gained experience across several major NHS centres, including King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and the Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle. He also completed fellowships in Southampton and Bristol, further strengthening his subspecialist surgical expertise.

Throughout his career, he has undertaken additional ophthalmology training courses and has built experience in refractive surgery and lens-based procedures, performing thousands of operations.

Mr Di Simplicio currently performs lens replacement surgery at Optical Express in Newcastle, focusing on modern refractive solutions for patients seeking visual correction.
