Dr Jennifer Rayner

Dr Jennifer Rayner is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in heart failure and cardiometabolic disease. She provides compassionate, patient-centred care, focusing on the thorough assessment, diagnosis, and long-term management of cardiovascular conditions. Her clinical practice centres on delivering tailored medical management to support patients with heart failure and complex cardiac conditions, helping them achieve optimal heart health and an improved quality of life.

Dr Rayner completed her primary medical degree, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (BMBCh) in 2006. She subsequently undertook comprehensive specialist training in cardiovascular medicine, completing her qualification as a Specialist in 2021. Alongside her clinical training, she pursued advanced academic research and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in 2018 for her investigation into cardiac energy metabolism, obesity, and heart failure. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), demonstrating her commitment to clinical excellence and high standards of patient care.

In addition to core cardiology, Dr Rayner has clinical interests in cardiometabolic health, structural heart conditions, and advanced cardiac imaging. She utilises state-of-the-art cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging to evaluate heart structure, muscle function, and tissue metabolism non-invasively. Through her ongoing work as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow, Dr Rayner remains at the forefront of medical research into heart muscle disease and metabolic risk factors, ensuring her patients benefit from contemporary, evidence-based treatments.
