Dr Jem Lane

I am a Consultant cardiologist with specialist expertise in heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias) as well as heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, inherited cardiac conditions and hypertension.

I studied medicine at the University of Manchester, and after completion of the MRCP, I entered specialist training in cardiology in London. From 2012 to 2015 I undertook a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology at Queen Mary University of London. I completed my clinical training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Devices at Barts Heart Centre, and in 2017 I undertook a fellowship at Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan to learn about ventricular tachycardia ablation and 3D electroanatomic mapping.

I have been working as a Consultant Cardiologist since 2018. My primary interest is abnormal heart rhythms, though I have broad expertise in investigation and treatment of heart disease. In 2020 I passed the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Association exam.
