Mr James O'Hara

Mr James O'Hara is an experienced Consultant ENT Surgeon and Otolaryngologist specialising in the comprehensive management of head and neck conditions. Dedicated to providing high-quality, reassuring care, he focuses on diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of benign and malignant disorders affecting the throat, voice box, neck, and salivary glands. Mr O'Hara collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure each patient receives an individualised treatment plan designed to achieve the best possible health and quality-of-life outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Mr O'Hara manages complex throat and voice complaints, swallowing difficulties, neck lumps, recurrent tonsillitis, and nasal airway obstruction. He is skilled in modern, minimally invasive surgical techniques, including transoral robotic surgery and transoral laser microsurgery. His surgical portfolio encompasses major head and neck cancer procedures, salivary gland surgery, pharyngeal pouch repair, clinic-based laryngeal interventions under local anaesthetic, septoplasty, and tonsillectomy.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr O'Hara maintains a prominent role in surgical research and academic medicine, holding a Doctor of Medicine research degree focused on persistent throat symptoms, as well as an appointment as a Clinical Senior Lecturer. He holds key leadership and council positions within major professional bodies, including the Royal Society of Medicine, the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
