About Mr Timothy Leontsinis
Mr Timothy Leontsinis is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon based in the Washington area of Sunderland. He specialises in thyroid surgery, cosmetic and functional nasal/sinus surgery and voice disorders.
He regularly performs rhinoplasties, facial aesthetic surgery and sinus procedures including endoscopic sinus surgery and thyroid surgery. He has over twenty years experience in these areas. He also carries out surgery for watery eyes, a procedure known as endonasal DCR.
Mr Leontsinis completed his medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa where he also trained in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck surgery. His specialist training and medical qualification was recognised by the Specialist Advisory Committee in the UK. He was registered as a Specialist in Otolaryngology/ENT surgery by the General Medical Council in 1996. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK and a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa as well as being a member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons, ENT UK and the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons.

Mr Leontsinis from day one was brilliant he explained everything, he performed a septoplasty on myself he came round on the morning of my surgery to see me and on my follow up appointment he was brilliant removing the stints. I don’t think I could of had anyone better to do the operation thank you

Vestibular migraine is a very debilitating condition, I am pleased that you are improving. Thank you and I hope that referral to a vestibular audiologist will be helpful.
MR Leontsinis assessed me for a perforation of the septum. He was very clear from the initial appointment what options I had and made it very clear if i was to choose a procedure it was not guaranteed to be successful. I had the procedure which was very seamless at the spire, I felt very well cared for by all staff involved during my admission and post admission. MR Leontsinis is a very very knowledgeable and skilled clinician. Im pleased to say my procedure was successful thanks to his care and precision.

This is a difficult procedure, also from the perspective of having to have splints inside the nose for 4 weeks.
