About Mr Nav Kara
Mr Kara is a consultant ENT surgeon who graduated from the University of Aberdeen and undertook further training across Scotland and England. He is based in the North east of England and provides an extensive ENT service, dealing with a wide spectrum of both adult and childrens' ENT conditions.
The Rhinology lead for his department, Mr Kara has a special interest in nasal polyps, nasal blockage/deformity due to trauma, deviated nasal septums, allergy and complex sinus surgery. He also holds dedicated paediatric clinics, centrally focused on common childhood problems such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), tonsillitis and hearing loss.
Mr Kara is Clinical Lead for his Department and maintains a strong focus on patient safety through open and honest communication with patients. He is a strong advocate for transparent doctor-patient communication and ensures patients understand their diagnosis and are actively involved in important decisions involved in their treatment plan.

I cannot recommend Mr Kara highly enough. From my very first appointment, he was professional, reassuring and incredibly considerate. What particularly impressed me was the consideration he gave to my future career. I am training in Musical Theatre and singing is a hugely important part of my life, so he took the time to discuss my voice, explain how my vocal cords would be protected during the procedure, and reassured me about returning to singing afterwards. This has meant a great deal to both me. On the day of my surgery, he was once again calm, kind and reassuring, which really helped to settle my nerves. I felt completely confident that I was in safe hands and receiving excellent care. I am extremely grateful for the professionalism, kindness and reassurance he has shown me throughout the whole experience. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.
