Dr James Jupp is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for individuals with disorders of the digestive system. He offers thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored treatment strategies for a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, ensuring every patient receives individualised, high-quality medical management.

Dr Jupp graduated with his medical degree from the University of Southampton in 2000. Following his initial training, he completed specialist higher medical training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology across the Wessex region. During this period, he engaged in clinical research focusing on chronic pancreatitis, furthering his academic and clinical foundation in complex pancreatic and hepatobiliary diseases.

In his clinical practice, Dr Jupp possesses key expertise in the management of liver diseases, biliary tract disorders, and pancreatic conditions, including chronic pancreatitis, hepatitis, and cirrhosis. He also manages gastrointestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome, alongside the assessment and management of upper gastrointestinal cancers. Additionally, he performs advanced endoscopic procedures, specialising in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography to diagnose and treat complex biliary and pancreatic disorders.
