Mr James Childs is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in disorders of the knee and hip. He is able to treat a range of conditions including sports injuries, ligament injuries, arthritis, and patellar instability.

He trained at the University of St Andrews as well as the University of Manchester before undertaking specialised orthopaedic training in the North West of England. Following this, he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and completed a fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital focusing on joint preservation in knee disorders. He then undertook a second fellowship in knee and hip joint replacement at Wrightington hospital.
Mr Childs is a member of both the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee. He is actively involved in both resaarch and teaching and has completed a Postgraduate diploma in medical education.

I attended the Beaumont hospital on the 040124, it was a very pleasant experience considering i was having total hip replacement surgey. All the staff without exception were, professional, curteous extremely attentive to my needs and friendly throught my stay, from first contact at reception straight through to my discharge. Mr Childs is one of the most important members of your organisation, an extremely personable, professional man (along with his team) and all have a brilliant bedside manner, they are credit to themselves and their proffession. I can't speak highly enough of my treatment, whilst in your hands, care. Also the food was lovely which is important when your not feeling 100 %. The TV provided in the room is shocking as it didn't work. 🤣 Thank you one and all. Highly recommended, kind regards Anthony C
