Dr. Iyas Assalman

Dr Iyas Assalman is an experienced psychiatrist with a special interest in ADHD. He achieved his medical degree from Damascus University in 2001 before moving to the UK to pursue specialist training in psychiatry in 2009. He has completed further higher training in general adult psychiatry and specialist training in liaison psychiatry and substance misuse psychiatry.

Dr Assalman runs a specialist adult ADHD clinic within the NHS and has a wealth of experience with assessing and managing complex cases of ADHD. He uses evidence-based approaches to mental health and compassionately guides patients in managing their symptoms and difficulties. Providing individualised care with a strong foundational therapeutic relationship is central to Dr Assalman's service. He endeavours to assess people's symptoms within the context of their personal, social, psychological and developmental background, with additional respect to their cultural values.

He is a dedicated psychiatrist, passionate not just about improving his patients' health, but the field of psychiatry also. A trainer recognised by the GMC, he is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.
