Dr Sophia Ulhaq

Dr. Sophia Ulhaq is a highly experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. She uses holistic and strength based approaches to help support young people and families through times of difficulty, she is passionate about her work with young people and strives to empower and give them the tools to achieve their goals in life. Dr. Ulhaq's expertise lie within a wide range of mental health difficulties, including Anxiety Disorder, Autism Spectrum Condition, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, Eating Disorders, Gender Identity, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Psychosis. She prioritises getting to know individuals and working out a plan tailored to their needs.

Dr. Ulhaq offers a range of services, such as general psychiatrist assessment and management, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity assessments, psychoeducation for common and complex mental health presentations, medication prescribing and family work. She utilises various therapeutic modalities such as Systemic, Dialectical Behavioural approaches, Cognitive Behavioural approaches, Mentalisation and Mindfulness.

Dr. Ulhaq obtained her MBBS from Imperial College Medical School, and subsequently completed a Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences with Psychology & Psychiatry. She has completed training and is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council, and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).
