Dr Ioannis Peristerakis

Dr Ioannis Peristerakis is an accomplished Consultant General Surgeon and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon who provides high-quality, reassuring care to patients with abdominal and gastrointestinal conditions. Serving in senior leadership positions, including as a Clinical Director, he brings extensive expertise to both elective and emergency general surgical care. Dr Peristerakis prioritises open communication and a patient-centred approach, taking the time to listen to patient concerns, explain diagnosis and treatment options thoroughly, and ensure every individual feels fully supported.

Dr Peristerakis earned his primary medical degree before undergoing comprehensive higher specialist surgical training in General Surgery with a focus on colorectal procedures. He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), demonstrating adherence to the highest standards of surgical excellence, safety, and clinical governance. He is fully registered with the General Medical Council on the Specialist Register. Continually striving to advance patient outcomes, Dr Peristerakis actively contributes to surgical research, clinical audits, and medical education, maintaining professional membership with the Royal College of Surgeons.

His clinical interests lie in advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques designed to enhance recovery and preserve long-term organ function. Dr Peristerakis possesses specialised expertise in robotic bowel surgery, including robotic Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) for early-stage rectal cancer and complex polyps. He also regularly performs laparoscopic procedures for conditions such as severe bowel adhesions, alongside diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, stoma management, and comprehensive colorectal cancer resections.
