Professor Holly Morris is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon with subspecialist fellowship training in hand and wrist, microsurgery and children’s hand and wrist surgery. Specialist training
Professor Holly Morris graduated from the University of Leicester in 2008 with Honours. Holly completed her foundation years training in the United Kingdom. Following this, she ventured to New Zealand where she spent several years working across a range of surgical specialities.
Holly returned to the United Kingdom and completed her Higher Specialist Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in the East Midlands, graduating in 2023. During this time, she trained in hand and wrist surgery under the supervision of Professor Joe Dias and in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre.
Following training, Holly completed a further attachment in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre before completing a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship in Auckland Reconstructive, Plastic and Hand Unit. During this time abroad, she furthered her skills in all areas of hand and wrist surgery. She undertook a short-term consultant post in Auckland following her fellowship.
Holly was awarded both the prestigious BSSH Stack Travelling Fellowship and Newton Travelling Fellowship to develop her interest in paediatric and congenital hand and wrist surgery. With these awards, Holly visited Stanford Medicine (California) and Washington University (St Louis) in the United States, North Shore Hospital[HM1] (Sydney) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) in Australia and the Dr Paul Brand Centre for Hand Surgery in Vellore, India.
Research Interests
Professor Holly Morris is a Visiting Professor of Healthcare Textiles with the University of Huddersfield. Holly has an extensive research portfolio and has presented work internationally. Her research interests cover the breadth of hand and wrist surgery and she has a special interest in sustainability in hand surgery and in healthcare textiles.
