Dr Helen Cattermole

Dr Helen Cattermole is a highly qualified Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who provides patient-focused surgical care for a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions and physical injuries. Her clinical practice centres on delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual's needs. Specialising in acute orthopaedic trauma and the management of complex bone conditions, Dr Cattermole works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure patients receive structured treatment and rehabilitation plans.

Dr Cattermole completed her undergraduate medical education and initial postgraduate training in Birmingham and Leicester. She subsequently moved to London to undergo higher surgical training before completing advanced training in trauma surgery across Edinburgh and Leeds. Demonstrating a dedicated commitment to educational leadership and academic development, she earned a Master's degree in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. Additionally, Dr Cattermole gained extensive operational experience serving with the Royal Army Medical Reserves, enriching her expertise in pre-hospital care and acute medical management.

Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Cattermole is deeply committed to medical education and professional standards in surgical training. She holds key educational positions, including roles as a Director of Medical Education and an Associate Postgraduate Dean. Through these responsibilities, Dr Cattermole guides postgraduate surgical training programmes, supervises junior doctors, and contributes to the ongoing development of high-quality healthcare standards across the medical community.
