Mr Reza Mayahi

Mr Reza Mayahi is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, with particular expertise in total hip replacement, Robotic Assisted Knee replacement, total knee replacement, unicompartmental (partial) knee replacement, and Arthrosamid injections for knee osteoarthritis.

His clinical practice is centred on delivering advanced joint preservation and joint replacement solutions, combining evidence-based techniques with a personalised, patient-focused approach. He treats degenerative disease of the hip (hip arthritis) and full spectrum of knee conditions, from instability and early arthritis through to complex structural knee disorders, helping patients restore mobility, stability, reduce pain and return to an active lifestyle.

Alongside his high-volume arthroplasty practice, Mr Mayahi also maintains specialist expertise in all aspects of knee surgery, including arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, meniscal preservation and repair, cartilage regeneration procedures, osteotomy, and patellofemoral realignment surgery.

His surgical career has been shaped by over 20 years of extensive training across leading orthopaedic centres in London, Cambridge, Oxford, and Sydney. This broad training has enabled him to develop a comprehensive skillset spanning both complex joint preservation and reconstructive joint replacement surgery.

Mr Mayahi completed his medical degree at University College London before undertaking higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the prestigious Cambridge rotation. He further advanced his subspecialist training through internationally recognised fellowships in knee surgery at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Australia, working alongside pioneers in sports knee surgery.

Following his return to the UK, he completed advanced trauma training and lower limb (hip and knee) specialist fellowships in Oxford as well as advanced knee fellowship training in Coventry under Professor Tim Spalding, covering all aspects of complex knee surgery. He is listed on the GMC Specialist Register and maintains ongoing professional revalidation and appraisal.
