Mr Harjeet Rayt is a full time vascular and endovascular surgeon who has been based in Leicester since 2016. He specialises in the treatment of arterial and venous diseases including varicose veins, aneurysms, circulation problems, carotid disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, and vascular malformations. He is highly experienced and offers both open and keyhole surgery to his patients.
Mr Rayt graduated from Leicester Medical School in 2002 and completed his surgical training before undertaking a fellowship at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge focusing on complex endovascular AAA repair and limb salvage methods.
He is passionate about furthering our understanding of vascular disease and has been involved in research in the field. In 2012, he undertook an MD during which he investigated the relationship between aortic aneurysms and genetic variations. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed publications as well as in textbooks in the field of vascular surgery. He currently supervises further research as an Honorary Lecturer in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester.
Additionally, Mr Rayt is the East Midlands (South) Core Surgery Training Programme Director, as well as a faculty member and the regional director of the Royal College of Surgeons' CCrISP programme.
