Dr Handrean Soran

Dr Handrean Soran is an experienced Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist specialising in endocrinology, diabetes, and cardiovascular risk management. He provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients presenting with complex hormonal imbalances, metabolic disorders, and lipid conditions. Dr Soran is dedicated to delivering reassuring, evidence-based care, working closely with individuals to formulate tailored management plans that optimise health outcomes and address cardiovascular risk factors.

In addition to general endocrinology and diabetes care, Dr Soran possesses deep expertise in lipidology, atherosclerosis, and metabolic bone disease. His clinical work encompasses the management of rare genetic dyslipidaemias, familial hypercholesterolaemia, parathyroid disorders, and calcium metabolism imbalances. Dr Soran also manages patients experiencing microvascular and macrovascular complications associated with diabetes and obesity, including those undergoing post-metabolic surgery monitoring.

Dr Soran completed his undergraduate medical degree, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1990. He attained his Diploma of Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1998, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the University of Liverpool in 2006. In 2011, he was awarded his Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree by the University of Manchester. Dr Soran was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of Edinburgh in 2009. He holds professional affiliations with major medical organisations, including HEART UK and the European Atherosclerosis Society.
