Dr Guru Kumar

Dr Guru Kumar is a dedicated Consultant Neurologist who provides expert care across both general outpatient and acute inpatient neurology. As the Clinical Lead for neuroinflammatory services, Dr Kumar specialises in the diagnosis, ongoing management, and compassionate care of patients living with Multiple Sclerosis and related neuroinflammatory conditions. He is committed to delivering individualised, patient-centred care, helping individuals navigate complex neurological symptoms with clarity, reassurance, and professional guidance.

Dr Kumar completed his higher specialty training in Neurology within the regional deanery, gaining extensive clinical expertise through advanced rotations at premier teaching hospitals in London. To further broaden his specialist knowledge, he was awarded a competitive overseas fellowship by the Association of British Neurologists, undertaking an intensive year of specialty training at an acclaimed international medical centre in Australia. In addition to his clinical practice, he actively contributes to medical education as an Associate Lecturer and Educational Supervisor, overseeing academic rotations and training Resident Doctors.

With a broad clinical scope encompassing long-term neurological conditions and acute neurological emergencies, Dr Kumar works collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams to deliver prompt, accurate assessments and tailored therapeutic plans.
