Dr Gauhar Malik

Dr Gauhar Malik is an experienced Consultant Neurologist who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. He offers thorough clinical evaluations and empathetic guidance for individuals dealing with complex disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. His patient-centred approach ensures that every individual receives clear explanations, accurate diagnostic assessments, and management plans tailored to their specific healthcare needs.

Dr Malik maintains a broad clinical practice covering general neurology alongside a sub-specialist focus on stroke medicine and cerebrovascular disease. His clinical interests encompass stroke prevention, transient ischaemic attack (TIA) evaluation, and ongoing management following a stroke. He routinely sees patients for a diverse array of conditions, including headaches, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, memory disorders, Alzheimer's disease, peripheral nerve disease, neuromuscular disorders, and neuro-ophthalmological conditions.

Dr Malik graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Cardiff Medical School in 2008, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Neuroscience at Cardiff University. He underwent higher specialist training in neurology across South Wales and completed a dedicated Stroke Fellowship. A Member of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr Malik holds professional memberships with the Association of British Neurologists and the British Association of Stroke Physicians, and has served on the National Stroke Advisory Group.
