Dr Gail Halliday is a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist specialising in the care of children, teenagers, and young adults with cancer. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, Dr Halliday is dedicated to providing high-quality medical care tailored to young patients facing complex oncological conditions. Her work encompasses a wide range of solid tumours, with a focus on delivering innovative treatments and improving outcomes for young people.

Dr Halliday’s primary clinical focus lies in the diagnosis and management of paediatric solid tumours, including sarcomas, bone tumours, soft tissue tumours, and neuroblastoma. She has a strong interest in advancing personalised treatment strategies, such as therapeutic drug monitoring to ensure chemotherapy dosing is precisely calibrated for each patient. In addition, Dr Halliday actively leads clinical trials to bring new therapies to children and young adults with complex cancer diagnoses.

Dr Halliday earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and completed higher specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology. Alongside her clinical training, she obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Research (MClinRes), conducting laboratory-based research into novel therapeutics for neuroblastoma, followed by an advanced international fellowship in paediatric oncology. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and holds memberships in leading professional bodies, including national sarcoma advisory panels and international childhood cancer research strategy groups.

Recognising the profound impact a cancer diagnosis has on young patients and their families, Dr Halliday places great emphasis on clear, reassuring communication and holistic care. She works collaboratively within multidisciplinary health teams to support families through every step of the treatment journey, ensuring that each child receives safe, effective, and individualised care.
