Dr Fintan Bergin

Dr Fintan Bergin is a highly regarded Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in colorectal surgery and intestinal failure. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care for individuals facing complex abdominal conditions. His clinical practice focuses heavily on the management of inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as colorectal cancer. Dr Bergin is particularly skilled in advanced laparoscopic techniques, which allow for minimally invasive procedures that promote quicker recovery times and reduce post-operative discomfort for his patients.

Dr Bergin obtained his primary medical qualification, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh BAO) from University College Dublin in 1991. Following his initial medical education, he undertook extensive postgraduate surgical training across Ireland, Australia, and the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI) and holds the Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery. Dr Bergin has been on the General Medical Council Specialist Register since 2004.
