Dr Evelyn Ong

Dr Evelyn Ong is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Surgeon specialising in complex paediatric hepatobiliary and transplant surgery. She provides high-quality, compassionate clinical care to infants, children, and young adults facing intricate surgical conditions. Known for her reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Ong collaborates closely with multidisciplinary medical teams to deliver comprehensive, tailored treatment plans while offering clear guidance and empathetic support to families throughout their care journey.

Dr Ong completed her undergraduate medical education at the University of London, where she achieved a Bachelor of Science in Basic Medical Sciences with Pharmacology alongside her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. She subsequently undertook extensive postgraduate surgical training across the United Kingdom and New Zealand, alongside dedicated clinical research. Dr Ong is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, holding intercollegiate specialty fellowship qualifications in Paediatric Surgery as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership. She is also an active member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons, having previously served as the organisation's Honorary Secretary.

In her clinical practice, Dr Ong focuses on the diagnosis and surgical management of complex liver and biliary disorders in children, as well as paediatric organ transplantation. Her areas of clinical expertise include biliary atresia, congenital liver malformations, paediatric liver transplantation, and paediatric kidney transplantation. She is also skilled in performing minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures and general surgical operations in children. Beyond her surgical practice, Dr Ong is actively engaged in surgical leadership, quality improvement, and clinical research aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes for young patients.
