Dr Emma Davies

Dr Emma Davies is an established Consultant General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon who is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to every patient. Specialising in both elective abdominal procedures and acute emergency surgical care, Dr Davies focuses on offering evidence-based treatments that prioritise patient comfort, safety, and recovery. Her clinical practice encompasses a comprehensive range of complex gastrointestinal and surgical conditions, ensuring each individual receives tailored, supportive guidance throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Davies holds extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, routinely performing laparoscopic colorectal resections for both benign and malignant conditions. Her sub-speciality interests include the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease, advanced endometriosis affecting the bowel, and inherited colorectal cancer syndromes such as Lynch syndrome and polyposis. As an accredited Colonoscopist, she performs diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies. In addition, she acts as a Surgical Lead for emergency laparotomy quality improvement, dedicated to advancing clinical standards and patient safety.

Dr Davies completed two years of dedicated full-time postgraduate research into inherited bowel disorders, leading to the award of a Doctorate of Medicine (MD). Her scientific research was recognised with the prestigious British Journal of Surgery prize at the Association of Coloproctology meeting, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and surgical textbook chapters. A passionate educator, she has previously held the position of Training Programme Director for regional surgical training. She maintains an active professional membership with the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
