Dr Elli Papantoniou

Dr Elli Papantoniou is an experienced Consultant Radiologist who specialises in diagnostic imaging and breast radiology. Known for her compassionate and patient-centred approach, she offers expert diagnostic assessments to help patients understand their health conditions with clarity and confidence. Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of imaging modalities, with a dedicated focus on delivering precise and prompt diagnostic interpretations.

Dr Papantoniou completed her undergraduate medical training at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School in London, graduating in 2004. She subsequently completed her general medical rotation and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP London), before undertaking higher specialist training as a Specialist Registrar in Radiology and completing dedicated sub-specialist training in Breast Radiology. She was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist in 2016. Dr Papantoniou is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists and holds professional memberships with the General Medical Council and the British Society of Breast Radiology.

Her core area of expertise centres on comprehensive breast imaging and interventional diagnostic procedures. Dr Papantoniou provides detailed reporting for mammograms, including breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography), as well as breast MRI scans and staging CT scans. She also performs a full range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including breast and axillary ultrasounds, ultrasound-guided breast lesion and axillary lymph node biopsies, fluid collection aspirations, stereotactic vacuum biopsies, and pre-operative lesion localisations.

By combining advanced imaging technology with a gentle and supportive clinical approach, Dr Papantoniou ensures that patients undergo diagnostic investigations in a calm and reassuring environment. Whether performing routine breast screening assessments or evaluating symptomatic presentations, she collaborates closely with multidisciplinary medical teams to support accurate diagnosis and personalised care plans.
