Dr Ellen Golightly

Dr Ellen Golightly is a dedicated Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in medical gynaecology, sexual and reproductive healthcare, and menopause care. Known for her patient-centred and empathetic approach, Dr Golightly provides individualised, evidence-based care to support women across all stages of life. Her clinical focus includes the assessment and management of perimenopause, menopause, complex contraception requirements, and general reproductive health concerns.

Dr Golightly offers expert evaluation and treatment for individuals experiencing complex menopausal symptoms, including those with intricate medical backgrounds, early or surgical menopause, or difficulties with previous therapies. She delivers tailored advice regarding hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and alternative therapeutic options for patients who have contraindications to conventional treatments. Beyond menopause management, Dr Golightly assists patients with sexual health consultations, fertility considerations, and post-menopausal health maintenance.

Dr Golightly graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2002 and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South-East Scotland. She earned a Doctorate (MD) for research into preterm birth and obtained a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Manchester. Dr Golightly is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and holds a diploma qualification from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (MFSRH). She is also recognised as an accredited Specialist by the British Menopause Society.
