Dr David Arnot

Dr David Arnot is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based at St John's Hospital, with broad clinical experience spanning women’s health, general practice, urgent care, and healthcare leadership. Alongside his clinical role, he is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, where he is actively involved in supporting and educating the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr Arnot graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2005 and has since gained Membership of both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Royal College of General Practitioners. His postgraduate training has included advanced specialist study in benign abdominal surgery, complex labour ward care and reproductive health, reflecting his commitment to delivering comprehensive and evidence-based patient care.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr Arnot completed a prestigious Clinical Leadership Fellowship with the Scottish Government and NHS Education for Scotland, further strengthening his expertise in healthcare leadership and service development. He has also contributed to peer-reviewed medical research and remains actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Outside of medicine, Dr Arnot has a longstanding passion for shinty, representing Scotland at university international level and competing for many years with Tayforth Camanachd.
