Dr Elinor Gatfield

Dr Elinor Gatfield is a dedicated Consultant Clinical Oncologist who delivers compassionate, patient-centred care for individuals navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment. Embracing an empathetic and structured approach, Dr Gatfield collaborates closely with multi-disciplinary specialist teams to design tailored, evidence-based management plans that focus on achieving optimal health outcomes while supporting patient well-being.

Her clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of head and neck, non-melanoma skin, and thyroid malignancies, alongside a focused interest in acute oncology and metastatic spinal cord compression. Dr Gatfield offers a comprehensive array of modern therapeutic modalities, including radiation therapy and radioactive iodine treatment. In addition, she administers systemic anti-cancer therapies, incorporating chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted molecular agents to ensure a personalised approach for every individual.

Dr Gatfield completed her medical degree at the University of Southampton in 2013. She subsequently undertook her clinical oncology specialist training in Kent and the East of England. She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in 2024. Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Gatfield is actively involved in clinical education and quality improvement, and serves as a member of the national UK Acute Oncology Society project management group.
