Dr Elinor Gatfield

Dr Elinor Gatfield is a dedicated Consultant Clinical Oncologist who delivers compassionate, patient-centred care for individuals navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment. Embracing an empathetic and structured approach, Dr Gatfield collaborates closely with multi-disciplinary specialist teams to design tailored, evidence-based management plans that focus on achieving optimal health outcomes while supporting patient well-being.

Her clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of head and neck, skin, and thyroid malignancies, alongside a focused interest in metastatic spinal cord compression. Dr Gatfield offers a comprehensive array of modern therapeutic modalities, including radiation therapy and radioactive iodine treatment. In addition, she administers systemic anti-cancer therapies, incorporating chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted molecular agents to ensure a personalised approach for every individual.

Dr Gatfield completed her medical degree at the University of Southampton in 2013. She subsequently undertook specialist training in Kent before completing her higher clinical oncology training in the East of England, leading to her appointment as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist. Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Gatfield is actively involved in clinical education and quality improvement, serving as a member of the national UK Acute Oncology Society project management group.
