Dr Carla Perna

Dr Carla Perna is a well experienced Consultant Clinical Oncologist with over 10 years of experience. Dr Perna's medical journey began in 2009 in Italy, where she acquired her initial medical qualifications. Subsequently, she specialised in Radiation Oncology, undertaking comprehensive training in this field. Notably, she dedicated two years to research in pelvic radiotherapy at the renowned University College London Hospital.

She currently practices as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at BMI St Martha Oncology Centre, London Cromwell Hospital, the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley. Dr Perna is recognised for her expertise in managing patients with urological cancers, with a particular focus on prostate and testicular cancers, reflecting her dedication.

Dr Perna has specialist expertise in delivering stereotactic radiotherapy using the innovative MRI-Linac technology, establishing herself as a pioneer in the United Kingdom. She also has expertise in brachytherapy and skilfully administers around 400 prostate brachytherapy cases annually. Her proficiency spans both low-dose-rate and high-dose-rate techniques.

Beyond her clinical roles, Dr Perna is an avid contributor to research. Her numerous publications attest to her active involvement in advancing medical knowledge. She has played a pivotal role as the Principal Investigator in various urological trials. Her research spans a wide range, including exploring innovative radiotherapy techniques, immunotherapy for prostate cancer, and the use of Theranostic approaches like Lutetium PSMA for metastatic prostate cancer.
