About Dr Hossam Attia
Dr Hossam Attia is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, with specialist expertise in the management of lung, renal, and head and neck cancers. His clinical practice is underpinned by more than 15 years of postgraduate training and research in medical oncology and internal medicine.
Dr Attia’s work focuses on delivering evidence-based cancer care alongside active involvement in clinical research and medical education. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams at Royal Surrey to ensure that oncology services reflect current advances in cancer treatment and adhere to high standards of patient-centred care.
Alongside his NHS role, Dr Attia also practises as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital. Prior to his consultant appointment, he completed specialist training in medical oncology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, leading to completion of his Certificate of Completion of Training. His earlier roles include clinical research fellowships and specialty doctor posts at Royal Surrey, as well as oncology training and practice at Cambridge University Hospitals.
Dr Attia began his medical oncology career at Cairo University, where he worked as a Medical Oncologist at Elmanial Specialised University Hospital. He has extensive experience in clinical research and remains actively involved in advancing oncology practice through research, training, and supervision of junior doctors.
