Mr Vikas Chadha

Mr. Vikas Chadha is a highly experienced Eye Surgeon who has been practicing in Glasgow, West of Scotland, since 2009. He is currently a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Gartnavel General Hospital. Renowned for his expertise in cataract surgery, Mr. Chadha has performed thousands of successful procedures. His surgical outcomes consistently surpass UK national standards, with an overall complication rate of less than 1%.

In addition to his surgical practice, Mr. Chadha is one of two consultants leading the Scottish Ocular Oncology Service, a centrally funded program under the National Services Division of NHS Scotland. This service complements his role in providing a tertiary referral oculoplastics service, which includes managing general ophthalmology clinics and cataract surgery lists. His service runs an International Fellowship programme where doctors from around the world are given training in the niche areas of ocular ocnology and orbital surgery. 

Mr Chadha is the Training Programme Director for Ophthalmology in the west of Scotland. He is also Chair of the Curriculum Sub-committee at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London and is responsible for the ophthalmology curriculum across the UK. He is an examiner both for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow as well as the Royal College of Ophthlamologists, London. His interest in training and education is further exemplified by the highly successful Glasgow FRCOphth course that he convenes and organises as well as his role as a faculty member in a number of meetings and courses. He is also Honorary Senior lecturer at the University of Glasgow.

An active contributor to ophthalmic research and literature, Mr Chadha has published over 45 peer-reviewed papers, has co-authored book chapters and is a regular reviewer for scientific papers in various prestigious international journals. He has bene an invited speaker in numerous international and national meetings including the International Society of Ocular Oncology bi-annual congress, Royal College of Ophthlamologists congress, British Oculoplastic Surgery Society meeting and the Scottich Ophthalmological Club meeting.
