About Dr Tom Hyde
Dr Tom Hyde is a distinguished Consultant Cardiologist with over 30 years of experience in the field of cardiovascular medicine. He qualified from St George’s Medical School in 1993, where his academic excellence was recognized with the James Hope gold medal for cardiology. Following this, he completed his specialist training at premier London institutions, including St Bartholomew’s and the London Chest Hospital.
Dr Hyde went onto complete a international research fellowship at Green Lane Hospital, Aukland, New Zealand which led to the completion of his medical degree at UCL on the outcomes of patients with acute coronary syndromes.
As a forward-thinking clinician, Dr Hyde is a notable early adopter of medical technology, integrating artificial intelligence into his diagnostic pathways to improve patient outcomes. He uses tool such as CaRi-Heart and HeartFlow for investigating coronary inflammation as well as CT FFR analysis.
His clinical approach emphasizes the early detection and prevention of coronary artery disease, moving beyond symptom management to proactive risk assessment.
Dr Hyde was appointed consultant in 2006 and since then has played a vital role in developing local coronary angioplasty services and more recently contributing to the launch of one of the UK’s first multidisciplinary angina clinics.
