Dr Tom Hyde

Dr Tom Hyde is a Consultant Cardiologist based in Swindon, UK. He is fully qualified in all aspects of adult cardiology including; atrial fibrillation, palpitations, dizzy spells and high blood pressure. He has specialist interest in the treatment and prevention of ischaemic heart disease, particularly in coronary angiography and stenting, cardiac CT and lipid management.

He has a long experience in preventetive cardiology, in particular the personalised use of coronary CT to assess heart health. This can be very reassuring for people worried about their risk of coronary disease. It can help and guide decision making about lifestyle and preventative medication to avoid future coronary diseae (heart attack and angina).

Tom is approachable, a good listener and puts patients at their ease. He offers a holistic approach to care and is happy for his patients to contact him direcly, if they have questions or queries.

Originally qualifying from St George's Medical School, he was the recipient of the James Hope gold medal prize for cardiology. He went on to complete his specialist training at St Barts and the London Chest Hospital in one of the UK's busiest and renowned cardiac units with three years of dedicated high volume training in coronary stenting. He has also undergone training in cardiac CT in both Los Angeles and the UK. His MD was completed at Green Lane Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, where he was clinically based studying the outcomes of patients with acute coronary conditions.
