Dr. Aung is a highly qualified endocrinologist with a distinguished career. She earned her M.B.B.S. degree in 1999, followed by MRCP in 2005 and FRCP in 2016. In 2018, she completed her MD Res degree from Queen Mary University of London after a three-year research fellowship at the Clinical Trials Service Unit CTSU at Oxford University.
Dr. Aung completed her specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the Oxford Deanery in 2013. She was appointed Consultant Endocrinologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2014.
Her clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of endocrine disorders, including
Thyroid diseases Diagnosis and treatment of thyroid conditions, including radioiodine therapy for benign thyroid diseases.
Parathyroid diseases Management of parathyroid disorders and calcium disorders.
Adrenal and pituitary diseases: Diagnosis and treatment of adrenal and pituitary gland diseases including Adrenal insufficiency, high prolactin, adrenal tumors, Pituitary adenoma.
Polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS: Management of PCOS and its related complications.
Hormone deficiencies and replacement therapy Diagnosis and treatment of hormone deficiencies and prescription of appropriate hormone replacement therapy.

Dr. Aung is a dedicated researcher with a keen interest in diabetes and endocrine diseases. Her research focuses on generating evidence-based data to improve clinical practice. As a principal investigator, she leads various research projects at the Diabetes Centre of the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
