Dr Shruthi Guruswamy

Dr Shruthi Guruswamy is a leading Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Roehampton, South West London. She is additionally trained as a Dialectical Behaviour Therapist, an evidence-based form of therapy which aims to encourage positive thinking and enable individuals to cope with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others. She has a special clinical interest in eating disorders, rehabilitation and substance misuse psychiatry. Her vast experience and knowledge enable her to give unparalleled care to her client and offer a first-class service.

Dr Guruswamy is committed to improving mental health care in the community and regularly holds seminars and teaching sessions for GPs on a variety of topics within the psychiatry field to keep them up to date with new treatments and practices. She has published accredited papers on Irish Mental Health Law and wrote her thesis on The Evolution of Irish Mental Health Policy.

After graduating with a Medical Degree she undertook her postgraduate training in Psychiatry University College Dublin in conjunction with the respected Mater Misericordiae Hospital and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2008.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the theatre and has an avid interest in Indian History and Indian Art.
