About Dr Riyaz Kaba
Dr Riyaz Kaba is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in the surgical implantation of heart pacemakers, treating patients who suffer from heart and blood conditions, with a specific interest in arrhythmias and cardiac ablations. He has played a pivotal role in this field having successfully implanted one of the world's first multi-polar pacemakers.
Dr Kaba qualified from Medicine in 1994 from the University of Dundee, completing specialist training at King's College Hospital, London and carrying out research in Molecular and Cellular Cardiology at the National Heart & Lung Institute at the Royal Brompton Hospital. From this, he decided to specialise within the field of Cardiology, undertaking training in Cardiology at both The Royal Brompton Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, London.
Dr Kaba completed an advanced fellowship at the Ivy League Institution of Columbia University in Manhattan, New York City, publishing his work in several peer-reviewed journals with collaboration from researchers from Imperial College London and Nature Genetics. He also dedicates time to lecture and train aspiring doctors and supervise Cardiology fellows. Dr Kaba has also received international awards from both America and Europe for his work.
