I qualified in 1997 with a scholarship prize, and examination prize. I was appointed in 2009. I specialise in cardiology.
I trained in Brighton, London, Wessex and lastly in Birmingham. I have completed specialist training and is accredited as a specialist in cardiology and general medicine. I spent 2 years in research and was awarded my Doctorate in 2012 from the University of Birmingham. I finished my training with an advanced fellowship in Birmingham.
My special interests include general adult cardiology, heart failure, modern cardiac imaging with echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance, heart rhythm disorders and complex cardiac pacing including cardiac resynchronisation as well as defibrillator therapy. I continue to be involved in research, and have a particular clinical and research interest in physiological (His bundle) pacing. I was elected to the council of the British Heart Rhythm Society in 2019.
Diseases, Medical Tests and TreatmentsPhysiological pacing - I have a particular interest in His Bundle pacing and physiological pacing as well as cardiac resynchronisation therapy. Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implants for home monitoring.
I am consultant cardiologist with a particular interest in heart function, heart rhythm problems, blackouts. I specialise in treating patients with heart failure and rhythm problems. In recent years I have specialised in physiological (conduction) pacing - His Bundle pacing, left bundle pacing as well as cardiac resynchronisation pacing.
