Dr Michael Markiewicz

Dr Michael Markiewicz is a leading Consultant Paediatrician based in London. He is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Child Health at the Imperial College School of Medicine. He specialises in rheumatological disorders, asthma and complex allergies.

In 1999 Dr Markiewicz was appointed as a Consultant Paediatrician at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Trust. He was also a Lead Paediatrician for Burns Unit and for High Dependency Unit. From 2001 to 2004, he was the Named Doctor for Child Protection at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. During this period, he developed a shared Oncology service and established a paediatric allergy and rheumatology services at the hospital.

Dr Markiewicz has published a number of research papers over the years and was awarded the prestigious Wellcome Trust research award in both 1994 and 1997.
