Dr Ed Abrahamson is a highly experienced general paediatrician in London, with 36 years in paediatrics.
He has held a specialist interest in emergency medicine throughout his career and set up the Paediatric Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 1995, where he was the Head of the department for two decades and worked there until June 2020.
Dr Ed has a large private practice and treats the full range of general paediatric conditions; he is particularly passionate about ensuring children receive vaccinations and avoiding unnecessary use of medication, such as antibiotics for minor viral infection. He has a genuinely holistic view of medicine, looking at the well being of the parents and other siblings in factors involving his patient's health. He actively involves parents in all decision making.
Aside from two educational medical books he has authored, he was a contributing author to the book, GROW by Frankie Bridge, published 2021 by Octopus Publishers, outlining advice and guidance for parents.
His clinics are at London's Cromwell Hospital, Monday to Thursday
Dr Abrahamson has received recognition for his work including a Bronze Clinical Excellence Award and being named in the top 100 children's doctors in Britain by The Times in 2012.
He was Vice President of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust 2019-2022 before being appointed Life Vice-President. He is also an active supporter and fund-raiser for the surf therapy charity, the Wave Project. He lives in Cornwall at weekends with his husband and his boys (Jack Russells).
Whilst born in Ireland, he is of Eastern European origin and very proud of his Jewish heritage.

Dr Ed reviewed my daughter having previously treated her when she was very unwell last year. At that point he changed her asthma medication, which has had a radical effect on her health since. We are extremely grateful for his expertise, it has meant that she has had an uninterrupted start to school life in reception (in previous years she has missed lots of term) and is overall more robust and thriving.
Dr Ed Abrahamson was very helpful, proactive and efficient during exanimating my daughter's complaints. He was able to clarify the observations and findings on the condition in medical, yet understandable language, and indicated without hesitation which next steps are necessary to role out anu protentional factors. He was swift and clear in following up on the results and in the overall communication.
Dr Ed is excellent at what he does and how he interacts with his patients
Dr. Abrahamson was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. No question was too much and as first time parents we truly appreciated that.
Amazing doctor that dedicates lots of his life and his heart to the little ones. Very thorough, kind and caring. But also with just the right sense of what is required and what isn’t/can maybe wait. We are so glad and happy that Dr. Abrahamson looks after our youngest (5months)
We have known Dr Ed Abrahamson for many years now. We have three children and Dr Ed has been always there/available for them. Very professional friendly, extremely knowledgeable and I always feel we get the children the right diagnosis and care. Since having my first child and all the worries that motherhood brings, Dr Ed has always giving me peace of mind knowing he is there and can look after my children. I am very grateful for his work, kindness and patience. I highly recommend him and thank him for this.
He is quite simply the very best paediatrician I have ever met, and I have seen a few with my twin boys! With his very detailed observations, his experience and knowledge and his complete honesty I am hesitant to see anyone else but Dr Abrahamson. He is amazing and we will be forever grateful to him.
Amazing level of knowledge and expertise! Great with kids and truly caring about patients!
We couldn’t recommend Dr. Ed Abrahamson enough. We had an issue getting our newborn back to his birth weight and wasted over five weeks trying to follow conflicting advice from different specialists and consultants, while the situation didn’t improve one bit. One visit with Dr. Ed was enough to get a very tailored and effective protocol that finally helped the baby thrive and make improvements at record speed. While Dr. Abrahamson’s experience speaks for itself, in person we found his approach to be caring and very straightfoward and direct at the same time. We feel appreciative of the help he gave us, and safe in knowing we now have a great paediatrician we can come back to anytime we need to. Thank you!
We’ve been lucky to have Dr. Ed as our pediatrician for almost 15 years, caring for all three of our children. He has always been absolutely impeccable — his knowledge, professionalism, and dedication are truly unmatched. Recently, when our son had a respiratory tract infection, Dr. Ed checked on him regularly and during our last follow up, he organised three tests and the visit in an incredibly efficient and seamless way, just as he always does. What makes him exceptional is not only his medical expertise but also his genuine care and kindness. He always takes the time to listen, explain, and reassure (me), making both children and parents feel completely safe and cared for. Dr. Ed is an amazing doctor and an incredible human being — we couldn’t be more grateful for all the years of support, guidance, and compassion he has given our family.
Dr. Ed is the most wonderful paediatrician and universally loved by his patients. Delight to work with.

PaediatricianEd is a fantastic paediatrician. I have worked with him over a number of years and he is a brilliant colleague. He also made a diagnosis for my daughter and helped her avoid imminent and unnecessary abdominal surgery. I routinely recommend him to anyone looking for an expert general paediatrician.
