Dr Melanie Lockett

Dr Melanie Lockett is a highly experienced Gastroenterologist. Dr Lockett qualified in 1994 from the University of London.

Dr Lockett trained in colonoscopy at the Wolfson Unit for Endoscopy, St. Mark's hospital, the UK's only specialist hospital for colorectal disease. The Wolfson unit is a national colonoscopy training centre and an accredited bowel cancer screening centre. Dr Lockett now teaches on colonoscopy training courses in the South West.

Dr Lockett spent two and a half years at St Mark's Hospital, Harrow as a research fellow studying the clinical features and genetics of hyperplastic polyposis which resulted in an MD thesis in 2005. During their research, Dr Lockett developed an interest in familial colorectal cancer and in intestinal failure.

Dr Lockett is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and the British Society of Gastroenterology.
