Dr Matthew J Wakefield

Dr Matthew J Wakefield is a highly experienced Ophthalmologist. They are an expert in micro-incision cataract surgery and complex cataract surgery. Dr Wakefield also provides lens replacement surgery to reduce a patient's dependence on glasses.

Dr Wakefield is passionate about teaching and is a Lead Trainer on the Royal College of Ophthalmologists' Microsurgical Skills Faculty, where they teach future surgeons how to perform cataract surgery. Dr Wakefield also has advanced specialist training in corneal and external eye disease.

Dr Wakefield graduated from the University of Birmingham and completed postgraduate Ophthalmic Specialist Training in the UK. They are a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of The Bowman's Club, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
