Mr Jonathan Miles

I had a Total Knee Replacement operation performed by Mr Miles. As a retired GP myself, I feel well placed to assess other colleagues. Mr Miles has a superb and empathetic bedside manner and a great sense of humour. He is extremely professional and articulate and forthright in his explanation of the operation and its sequelae and the whole post operative course. As for the surgery itself, it went perfectly well and the post operative course and unpleasant pain was sadly exactly as explained. He dealt with my expected symptoms with sympathy and realism. I cannot commend him highly enough. I think it is rare to meet a surgeon who combines his degree of humanity with his superb surgical skills..

I visited Mr Miles for a second opinion about the care plan proposed for my various joint issues. Mr Miles was hugely reassuring that the pathway is appropriate - and all delivered with a sense of humour.

Mr.Miles performed partial knee replacements on both of my knees. Both procedures were faultless, and the persistent and severe pain that I had in each knee (apart from the expected post-operative swelling) disappeared straight away. I had been in so much pain prior to each surgery, and painkillers only took a slight edge off of the pain. I was unable to walk any distance, sleep properly and it was affecting my work. But Mr.Miles’ interventions literally gave me my life back. One of the partial replacements is 12 years old and the other is 10 years old - but I’m still pain free. Thank you Mr.Miles.

Very happy with rate of recovery. Much more functional early on than I had anticipated. Mr Miles seemed to take an individualized approach, listening to my specific concerns and post op goals very carefully.

Mr Miles is not only highly skilled but also has a great bedside manner and sense of humour. He put me at ease and inspired confidence right from our first meeting, explaining everything clearly and patiently answering my questions and addressing my concerns My hip replacement and recovery so far has gone brilliantly, much better than I expected,. Mr Miles was honest as always about the amount of pain that I would experience following my Knee Replacement surgery. He was very pleased with the progress that my 'wound' healing was making.

Mr Miles actually discharged my husband on our last visit, he has been wonderful from out first visit reassuring us that he would help us get my husband through the surgery as he has Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia. Try to his word Gerald got through the surgery and is doing great.
