Dr James Halpern

Dr James Halpern is a Consultant Dermatologist specialising in general adult and paediatric dermatology. He is the Clinical Director and lead consultant in Dermatology at Walsall and Wolverhampton Hospitals.

Dr Halpern has 10 years of experience of working in Dermatology in both the NHS and the private sector. He runs general and specialist clinics, looking after both adults and children. He treats conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and vitiligo. Dr Halpern is also past skin cancer lead for Walsall and he is fully qualified in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers. His surgery is audited every year and he has a complete excision rate for skin cancers of over 99%.

Dr Halpern has a special interest in research and he has written two award-winning dermatology books and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Halpern understands the emotional impact of skin disease and he ensures his patients have a good understanding of their condition and the treatment options available before beginning treatment.
