Dr James Ahlquist

Dr Ahlquist is a specialist in endocrinology and diabetes. His clinical practice includes all aspects of general endocrinology, including disorders of the thyroid, pituitary, parathyroid, pancreas and adrenal glands and also reproductive disorders.

Endocrinology is about hormone disorders. The most common conditions are thyroid disease, reproductive matters and problems with calcium balance. Pituitary disease is less common and this is an area where Dr Ahlqiust a particular expertise. Endocrinology also includes disease of the adrenal glands and pancreas, and some uncommon genetic disorders.

Diabetes is an increasing problem in our community, and routine care often requires some specialist input. People with diabetes often have concerns about choice of treatment, the complications of diabetes and what the future holds. Dr Ahlqiust is available to provide information and care to patients with this condition.

Dr Ahlquist's clinic is held on Tuesday afternoons.
