About Dr. Aaisha Saqib
Dr Aaisha Saqib is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She works within a tertiary referral centre, where she leads multidisciplinary clinics and provides specialist care for a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions.
Her clinical expertise includes the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, complex hormonal disorders, and diseases of the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands. She has a particular interest in diabetes technology, including continuous glucose monitoring systems and insulin pump therapy, with the aim of supporting patients in achieving improved glycaemic control and self-management. She also specialises in medical weight management using injectable therapies, as well as peri-operative diabetes optimisation for patients undergoing surgery.
Dr Saqib is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an active committee member of Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. She is an educational supervisor for trainee doctors and regularly contributes to postgraduate medical education through lectures and teaching sessions.
She has a strong portfolio in clinical leadership and quality improvement, with work presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Her contributions to service development and leadership have been recognised through multiple awards, including the Royal College of Physicians Lily Leadership Award in 2021.
Alongside her NHS role, Dr Saqib sees private patients at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone and Sevenoaks Medical Centre, and also offers virtual consultations where appropriate.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Saqib. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel very welcomed. Dr. Saqib was outstanding throughout my appointment. She took the time to explain every step clearly and patiently, making sure I felt comfortable and reassured at all times.
Dr Saqib was very empathetic, listened to all my concerns and explained everything to me. She has given me a clear pathway of where she wants to focus my initial testing and made me feel very comfortable. This was my initial consultation with her and I feel I confident she will help me resolve my concerns in my ongoing hormonal journey.
Dr Saqib was warm, kind and gave me the time and space to describe my concerns. She asked extensive questions to ensure no stone was left uncovered, but in an informal and safe context - I did not feel interrogated or (from experience with other less emotionally sensitive consultants) stupid. I left my consultation reassured, confident in the next steps and received a follow up letter that was outstanding in its thoroughness and ease of understanding. I wish all consultants were so adept.
Aaisha has been incredibly helpful and I always look forward to seeing her. She has helped me to find the right medication and has referred me on to other specialists when needed such as dietician and neurologist. She truly cares about her patients and has been very attentive to my needs even when she was away on holiday.
I highly recommend Dr Saqib. Dr Saqib is professional and empathic, with a holistic understanding of the health issue.
