About Dr Jamal Hayat
Dr Jamal Hayat is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist, currently seeing private patients at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital and Spire St Anthony's Hospital.
Dr Hayat completed his specialist gastroenterology training in London, during which he undertook an MD research degree into the use of advanced diagnostic techniques in gastrointestinal disease presenting his work nationally and internationally and publishing in a number of high impacts scientific journals.
Dr Hayat runs a specialist clinic for patients with upper GI problems such as reflux disease/indigestion and swallowing disorders. He runs the GI physiology lab at St George's Hospital performing high-resolution oesophageal manometry and ambulatory impedance-pH monitoring as well as being an experienced JAG accredited endoscopist and endoscopy trainer.
His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of patients with anaemia, abdominal pain, and altered bowel habit including detection and assessment of irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal cancers such as stomach cancer and bowel cancer.
